One of my favorite things about shooting Boudoir Photography for women is how empowered and beautiful they immediately feel after viewing their photographs for the first time. I hear alot of things like 'OMG is that really me??' and 'Wow I had no idea I could look this good!'

I get a lot of women who call in asking about Boudoir Photography who are afraid they are either too old, not skinny enough, not pretty enough etc, etc. You know what I tell them?? Get your butt in here, let me take your photos and THEN tell me you don't think you are pretty! I have never had a dissapointed client…EVER! You do not have to be 22 years old with a runners body to look good in these photos. I have photographed women from ages 19-59 and sizes 2-18 and they have all been gorgeous.

So this weekend I had the opportunity to make someone very important to me feel beautiful ( not like she needed me to look beautiful ). My sister, Serena is a busy stay at home mother of three who also baby sits a forth child, because, well she is crazy! Just kidding, its because she is a natural at this mothering thing and like so many mom's, she puts the needs of everyone else around her before her own. Bravo to all you mothers for being so selfless! Sissy, you are gorgeous, strong and I don't know what I would do without you!

So for any of you who do not know me very well, when I am not shooting or running my business, I am usually helping my husband with his. I wear many different hats when I work with John; janitor, secretary, real estate agent, painter, book keeper, just to name a few, but one of the best parts of helping him is getting to tear down old rotten houses in preparation for a new build! That is what we have been up to lately, with the help of his beautiful sister Penny…thanks Pen!! We are currently about half way through the demolition portion of this project and I got to thinking…..what a great spot to do a photo shoot !! I knew that it wasn't a safe place for kids, and I really didn't want to ask anyone to take their clothes off in there for a boudoir shoot so I asked Penny if she would let me borrow her pretty face and extensive woredrobe for a personal shoot, just for fun. She was super excited and a total natural in front of the camera

The house wont be around for long so if anyone is interested in getting some photos taken in there let me know as soon as possible, k. Enjoy!

I am sooooo excited! Tomorrow night my husband and I fly home so I can finally get to touch the rock! For any of you who have no idea what I am talking about, I am from NFLD (The Rock) and while I have lived here in Halifax for almost 10 years I still get this empty feeling in my heart and in the pit of my stomach about every 6-8 months and the only thing that makes it go away is to go home for a little visit. So bring on the snowmobiling, hot tubbing, dancing on George Street, Nan's Sunday dinner and most importantly my family and friends, oh how I have missed you!!

Now why is this relevant?? Its not really, it just means that I will not be in town for Valentine's Day so I wanted to make this Valentine's Day post a little early. I recently had the pleasure of shooting Boudoir Photos for some very beautiful clients. Many of them were not comfortable with me using their photos on my site but my dear friend Melissa told me that she is happy with me using whatever I want and I am soooooo thrilled with how her photos turned out! Instead of shooting in the studio she came to my house for the shoot and I can honestly say I think I will be doing most of my boudoir work there from now on. I can not say enough about how much fun we have doing these shoots and how wonderful my clients feel about themselves when they are finished and especially when they see thier completed photos. I think every woman whould try this;) Com'on dont be shy!!!

Now that Christmas Season is over, it is time for a serious change of pace. There are only a few weeks left until Valentine's Day and for all you ladies out there who want to give your Valentine something to remember, Blue Vine has just the package for you! You may not think that a Boudoir Photo Shoot is something you could go through with, but TRUST ME, ANYBODY can do this and I promise when you see your images you will be blown away by how beautiful and sexy you really are. Here are just a few samples of the boudoir work that I have done over the past few months.

Hi Everybody and welcome to Blue Vine Photography's very first blog!

It gets pretty busy around here at times so I am very happy that I am finally going to be able to show everyone all my favorite images as soon as they are finished!

I am going to try to write a little something and add my favorite photos of the week to my blog every Friday morning. I will also be adding new images to my galleries frequently, so if you have been in for a photo shoot recently, you can check the gallery regularly if you would like to see your photos on display.

My first set of images is from an Intimate Portrait shoot I finished last week for a very good friend of mine who wanted to do something special for her hard working husband. I am very happy with how these images turned out and I am sure her husband was too!
